Parking at Symonds Yat East

Symonds Yat Parking

Once again we are receiving complaints about parking at Symonds Yat by club members, people are parking in the Wyedean Canoe and Adventure Centre car park without paying a parking fee and launching without a paying a launch fee.  Your club membership only entitles you to free parking and launching on the site on club evenings (Thursdays from April to October), not free parking whenever you feel like a walk or a paddle!  Failing to pay is putting the club's free use of the facilities at risk, each club member typically saves over £100 over the season as a result of our free parking and launching on Thursday evenings - just think about that the next time you are planning on saving £4 by not paying!  If you are one of the few please stop running the risk of ruining it for the many!

In addition there are reports of parking in the passing bay opposite the lock-up garages in order to avoid paying for parking; not only is this illegal it makes it very difficult to turn vehicles around on busy days when all the car parks are full and it prevents other club members from easily and safely removing canoes from the lock-up garage.  Parking here as the added risk of action from West Mercia Police, in addition to damaging the clubs reputation with local businesses.  Again, if you are one of the few please stop running the risk of ruining it for the many!
